According to the New York Post, Twitter has seen a lot of assassination threats against Trump since his winning the election last week.
Leaving aside the fact that the number of threats on Twitter result in a calculator error when divided by those that are credible, I don’t think people have the slightest idea how tight security is around an American President these days. People probably think it’s as simple as pulling a security guard’s gun like that idiot Brit did at a Trump rally some months back, but security around the US President is ramped up to somewhere around 13 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Before Barack Obama was elected everyone assumed any black president would be assassinated by a deranged, racist redneck. Then Obama was elected and people assumed he would be assassinated by possibly the same deranged, racist redneck. Or his brother-stroke-father. I am of the opinion Obama wasn’t assassinated because his political opponents are not murderous hicks, but it would have been extraordinarily difficult to pull off anyway.
Give it another few weeks and rubbish like this will have died down and we’ll never hear of it again.
