Holdin’ on for a hero

A few days ago an Italian of Senegalese origin attempted to set fire to a bus full of schoolchildren in retaliation for the government’s immigration policies. It took a while for the mainstream media to get around to reporting on it in any depth, presumably because it took time to identify the sort of hero they’re after:

No, not that sort of hero. This sort:

It’s funny how the media always finds the right sort of hero when covering these events, isn’t it? And when do we all dress up as pizza slices?

  1. I guess they thought a little European kid thwarting the intentions of an armed black terrorist might look a bit racist.

  2. when do we all dress up as pizza slices?

Isn’t that cultural appropriation of teenage faces?

  3. I can’t quite believe a crime of this sort isn’t gaining better media traction.

The ‘Mail’s front page this morning? ‘New evidence’ into a decades old crime.

  4. Why are the mainstream media doing this? Why are they so keen on third world immigration? Really, I want to know.

  5. Why are [the media] so keen on third world immigration?

    1. To prove they’re not heathen Catholic the wrong sort of Protestant racist
    2. To stick it to heathens Catholics the wrong sorts of Protestant racists
    3. Because politicians tell them to be
    4. Because businessmen pay them to be

    Bonus round:

Why are politicians so keen on third world immigration?

    1. To prove they’re not heathen Catholic the wrong sort of Protestant racist
    2. To stick it to heathens Catholics the wrong sorts of Protestant racists
    3. Because the media tells them to be
    4. Because businessmen pay them to be
    5. Because third world immigrants will vote for them more reliably than the natives will

  6. 5. Because third world immigrants will work for lower wages than the natives will

In my experience, 3rd world immigrants won’t work at all.

(To broadly generalise in the interest of clarity & blog brevity).

  7. It doesn’t matter. Here in Italy the media called it right the first time, and the public got the message.

It was about a year ago that a savage butchered a pretty teen, and you could feel the mood hardening again – it wasn’t soft to begin with. A few months later La Lega became the main component of a popular government, and Matteo Salvini has mostly had his way on immigration matters.

The next step is getting the savages out, and I wonder if that is the government’s next step.
