Trump vs Clinton

It occurred to me on the way to work this morning that Donald Trump is a symptom of the increasingly appalling state of US politics.  Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is very much a cause.

  1. Also, Assange has suggested today that the DNC leak source was a Democrat staffer rather than “the Russians”. Said staffer, Conrad Rich, was sadly murdered in a botched on July 8th (botched because he still had his wallet, money and phone on his person).

This whole Clinton family has a rather nasty whiff about it.

  2. I suspect that the murder of Conrad Rich made Trump ponder the odds of Hellary having him, The Donald, assassinated. Then in his projectionist style, he mused out loud about her being assassinated. He’s worried, I’d say. Maybe he’ll even throw the election to keep himself safe.

Oh, the poor chap! What extraordinary bad luck! That’s almost as unfortunate as a key witness in the oil-for-food scandal falling down an elevator shaft:

Sevan, a 40-year veteran of the world organization, was accused in the February interim report of a “grave conflict of interest” for requesting Baghdad sell oil to a Swiss-based oil company, African Middle East Petroleum Co. Ltd. Inc.

While the report did not accuse him of taking kickbacks, it did show concern for $160,000 Sevan said he received between 1999 and 2003 from an aunt, a retired photographer for the government in Cyprus. She recently died in a fall down an elevator shaft.

As I say, terrible bad luck!

  4. He’s worried, I’d say.

He does seem to stand a rather high chance of being knocked off, either on Clinton’s orders or by a crazed lefty (some deranged Brit has already had a go).

  5. It’s almost Aspergie: The Donald worries about assassination, The Donald talks about assassination. How the devil did he manage to conduct business negotiations if he blurted out whatever was on his mind?

This chump is a contender only because Hillary is such a bloody awful candidate.

That doesn’t explain why he won the Republican nomination though. IMO he won it because he was the only candidate who wasn’t offering more of the same.

  7. “IMO he won it because he was the only candidate who wasn’t offering more of the same.” Fair enough, but I’m not sure that he’d have a good chance against a strong Dem candidate.

  8. I’m not sure that he’d have a good chance against a strong Dem candidate.

He’d get destroyed, partly because Dem voters want more of the same, and then some. But partly because he’s a clown.

  9. The Trump versus Clinton media circus is just that. Both families are actually quite close to each other and the rivalry is for the Punch and Judy effect. In my opinion the election result has been decided upon and they are merely running some software testing now to validate it.
