The Future for South African Whites

I’m reading on Twitter that the issue of “farm killings” has gained attention in South Africa, this being the term used when a bunch of blacks massacre a family of whites who live in isolated rural settlements. This article gives us a clue as to what we’re talking about:

Willemien (pictured below) was only two years old when, along with her mother, she was forced to watch her farmer father stabbed 151 times with a garden fork. Her little feet were dipped in her father’s blood, and she was then lifted up by her baby-soft red hair, and shot at point-blank range through her head. Then her mother was forced to her knees and shot through the back of her head.

So far, so Africa.

At the trial of the family’s six killers, all local black men, a large crowd gathered outside the court in celebration of the slaughter, cheering the killers as heroes and saviours. Women (under the circumstances I use the word women very loosely) danced and sang in excited joy.

Uh-huh.

Farm killings have been going on since the end of Apartheid and I don’t know if there has been a recent upsurge in farm killings which is driving rural folk to protest by blocking motorways, or whether they’re just fed up with being slaughtered while the authorities do nothing and large swathes of the population think they’re racists who deserve it.

Either way, the writing has been on the wall for white South Africans for well over a decade now, and few can be dim enough not to have seen the precedent set by Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe. The overwhelming political opinion both in Africa and abroad is that whites have no place in Africa, and they should get out while they can. Is this fair? No, of course it’s not, but this is the reality they need to deal with. It may take another generation, perhaps two, but in the foreseeable future it is a near-certainty that we’ll see South Africa’s remaining whites being forced to leave or face being massacred. When that happens, the rest of the world will look on with barely a murmur. You’re sure as hell not going to get anyone calling for sporting sanctions.

Of course, you have a lot of middle-class South Africans wringing their hands on Twitter and Facebook, imploring people not to make the murders “about race”. Well, that’s a bit late: everything is about race these days, and whereas this was always the case in Africa it is now increasingly true in America and Europe. This is why, when the white South Africans start seeking refuge in these places, they will be turned down by obese, gurning bureaucrats seeped in cultural Marxism with a deep loathing for their own country, race, and culture who are only too happy to admit millions of non-white people who share that hatred and contempt. As the linked article says:

Anyone who believes that, after three centuries, South Africa is not equally the Boer’s homeland simply on grounds of race must have a poor opinion of the rights of far more recent non-white immigrants in Europe – unless, of course, they are total hypocrites.

Stop thinking that refugees are non-whites and ‘seeking a better life’. That isn’t a refugee – that is an economic migrant who tugs at the guilt-strings of a decreasing number of people. The Boers are the most valid refugees I can think of – with no financial incentive to find a safe country, simply the necessity to save their lives.

My advice for young, white South Africans is twofold. Start cultivating ties with Eastern European countries, as there is a good chance they will be the only places where the authorities are not infiltrated to the core by cultural Marxists who will be shrieking with glee at your plight. Secondly, stop the middle-class virtue-signalling over issues like Donald Trump and gun ownership in the US; the more I see it, the more I’ll think you’re complicit in your own demise, and it is highly likely you will one day wish you lived in a regime that had both.

  1. Tim do you read Kim Du Toit’s blog? Let Africa Sink is a very well known essay. On the same page as you.

  2. If I were young and knew what I know now I would be off to Eastern Europe, probably Poland, right away. It’s going to be the last bastion of European culture

  3. Tim do you read Kim Du Toit’s blog? Let Africa Sink is a very well known essay.

I don’t read his blog but I read that essay, after I lived in Africa. To me he was merely stating the bleedin’ obvious, but it’s amazing how many people don’t seem to have got the measure of the place.

  4. Glad I left SA when I did. A fair few farmers have trekked north to places like Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania where they have been met with open arms.

What is it about Marxist governments (SA and Zimbabwe) that seem to hate feeding their own people?

  5. What’s the racial composition of the South African army? It used to be a very effective fighting force.

Whether SA descends into a black bloodbath of whites depends very much on which side the army will be on.

  6. “What is it about Marxist governments (SA and Zimbabwe) that seem to hate feeding their own people?”

True socialism is not compatible with farming. Farmers work bloody hard and need to sell their produce to get by. It’s a self-sufficient lifestyle. If the state doesn’t allow them that and ’employs’ them then they get a slovenly, disinterested, soviet approach to food production.

In Africa’s case the same shitty dynamic is amplified by endemic corruption and the general lack of enthusiasm for a hard work / low return lifestyle. I have lived and worked in Angola, Gabon, and Nigeria – so not pontificating from afar but relaying what I saw.

  7. Whether SA descends into a black bloodbath of whites depends very much on which side the army will be on.

If they choose the wrong side I suspect they’ll be slapped with international sanctions immediately and any arms/ammunition supplies stopped, while the black forces will be amply supplied by Russia and China (purely for commercial, rather than ideological, reasons).

  8. The silly buggers shouldn’t have given in. Apartheid was a vile system but it was always obvious that whatever replaced would be at least as vile. They were lucky that Mandela was far better than might have been expected but nobody lives forever.

  9. The silly buggers shouldn’t have given in.

Personally, I think apartheid should have ended and majority rule brought in. At that precise moment, European nations should have agreed wholeheartedly that Africa is indeed for Africans – but Europe is from that point on for Europeans.

I honestly believe the best approach for Africa is to leave them well alone and let them get on with running things as they see fit without interference from whitey. Unless I’m mistaken, this appears to be what they want. However, we should be prepared to shield ourselves from the consequences – and that includes listening to persistent whining.

  10. A white South African friend of mine had been living in the UK for some years, but got quite patriotic on the occasion of the first “free elections” back in 1994. He turned up to vote at South Africa House clutching his passport, and found himself in a long queue of excited ex-pats all talking about Mandela and which among them were considering going back to the newly liberated homeland. When he got to the front of the queue, an official was turning away all those passport-holders who hadn’t got it regularly stamped during the apartheid years. My friend couldn’t vote.

“But this is just so important, now that Mandela is free”, he said. “Just for once, couldn’t you turn a blind eye and let me through to vote?”

The official didn’t even look up. “Sonny, if you come back in a couple of years when we’re a proper African country, then I can take a bribe. Until then, fuck off!”

  11. Africans hadn’t even discovered the wheel before the big bad Boer farmers arrived and cultivated virgin lands which blacks then arrived in for the opportunity created there. This is not to justify everything that Europeans did on the continent, but blaming the White Man for Africa’s poverty ignores the fact the tribes of Africa were as primitive as can be when the whites arrived.

  12. “while the black forces will be amply supplied by Russia and China (purely for commercial, rather than ideological, reasons”

There is the BRIC’s political block angle as well, which is significant.

“They were lucky that Mandela was far better than might have been expected”

Democracy gave every illiterate, low IQ slum-dweller the right to vote for black Marxism and their cronie capitalist elite and they have been misruled ever since. It can only get worse before it gets better.

  13. Africans hadn’t even discovered the wheel before the big bad Boer farmers arrived and cultivated virgin lands which blacks then arrived in for the opportunity created there.

Not only had they not discovered the wheel, when the Boers turned up they weren’t even there. South of the Zambezi river the only inhabitants were the scattered Kalahari bushmen. The blacks only began turning up in numbers to benefit from the civilization that the Boers were carving out of the wilderness.

It’s literally the blacks that are the invaders in this case, a fact that is all too often conveniently forgotten.

  14. “It’s literally the blacks that are the invaders in this case, a fact that is all too often conveniently forgotten.”

Yes exactly this is what I was trying to say. And if you look at the current middle class in SA then it is simply made up of blacks that have been given the jobs that are now denied to or have been taken away from the whites that created them. They reckon that there is as many as 500,000 whites in squatter camps as well. Whichever way you look at it the Marxist black government, in spite of presiding over a resource rich nation, skilled upper class white businessmen, well developed infrastructure, massive technical and manufacturing capacity has utterly failed both its black and white people.

Back on the Boers, their first experience with African tribes was observing the Zulus murdering and oppressing other tribes. I took this picture of a portrait at the Pretoria Gallery, from memory it was called the unknown Boer or similar:

  15. I disagree with the idea that white South Africans are going to driven out from South Africa. The South Africans cannot be that stupid. If that happens it will be a sad day for those who believe in a multi-racial society. I think the issue is that both sides need to understand each other better and meet halfway. speaking as a non-south African ,black south africans seem to have a skyscraper-sized chip on their shoulder when it comes to white people.

  16. Omasan – yes South Africans can be that stupid. They don’t believe in a multi-racial SA. They believe in black power. Yes they do have a planet-sized chip for obvious historical reasons. Sensible advice to whitey now he’s not in charge is to get the fuck out of Dodge.

  17. Patrick- I thought the example of Zimbabwe should have helped concentrate minds. From what I read I thought the farm killings where part of a general crime wave not specifically racial. I hope it doesn’t get any worse. africa needs a success story

  18. It is a proven fact that genetics plays a very large part in the size of your brain and IQ level, I think Jacob Zuma and Obama are striking examples of this. I had a particularly bad experience with a top their legal firm in Joburg that represented my firm on an unlawful competition case that we were forced to defend ourselves against it. This firm rates were very high and exorbitantly high for SA, I spent a long time with their black senior partner and associates, going through our defense, preparing affidavits and attending the court hearings. Our senior counsel from chambers was white.

During this whole episode it struck me how significant the IQ gap was in all aspects. We lost that case, the other sides white representation won hands down. I have since hired that white firm whose rates are actually lesser than the black firm.

I was out there during their recent “Xenophobic” riots in 2015 and chuckled to myself when the gas station that we stopped at in an upmarket area of Joburg had a handwritten note on the diesel pump saying, “no diesel becasue of the Xenophobia”.

So what should the whites do, my advice would be to leave but I have discovered many reasons why this is easier said than done. The sad reality for the whites is that they are left with two extremes, those that are too rich to need to leave, or those that should leave but are too poor to do so. High end Cape Town real estate is booming again and corporate rents are very high for those interested in what is going on.

  19. I’m going on holiday to SA later this year, for about the 5th time. It’s a family favourite and we used to have family there. As usual, all our time will be in the Western Cape, where it has got safer over the past 15 years or so. The population is 49% coloured, 33% black, 17% white and it’s that mix that keeps it safer and more prosperous than the rest of the country.

When I looked up those figures I also found that SA was 22% white at the beginning of the last century. I’m not sure what could have been done to save it and its white population in the long run. I say could have been, because there is nothing now.

My idea was that the government should have created more ‘homelands’ for black South Africans, made sure they were viable and then granted them independence, in order to reduce the black population. SA with a more even black/white/coloured mix might have had a better chance of long-term survival.

  20. MC: black homelands (so-called “Bantustans”) were established by the apartheid government in the 1950s as supposedly independent states but no one other than Pretoria recognised them as such. They were abolished in the early 1990s. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bantustan

I think the reason the Sun City casino resort was able to be established was due to it being “outside” of South Africa in the Bantustan called Bophuthatswana. Casinos etc. were otherwise illegal in apartheid South Africa.

  21. Thanks Jan, I knew about the homelands but didn’t realise they’d been dissolved (obvious I suppose).

Wasn’t each of these surrounded by RSA? My fantasy involved creating nations with external borders. I suspect it wouldn’t have worked; for one thing no white landowner would have given up land in the early 1990s, they would not see today coming.

  22. “I’m going on holiday to SA later this year, for about the 5th time”

Although I haven’t done it myself on a holiday basis I actually recommend SA as a holiday destination for Aussies anyway. Direct flight to Joburg, massive value add with the exchange rate, great restaurants, great service, exceptional meat, seafood and phenomenal wine, enough to see around the place. For mine, with family it would be Cape Town and then the best of Kruger or something similar.

I am a bit of lobster guy and strangely enough I rate inland Joburg as in the global top three for lobster dining.
