A few days ago I said:
The lunatic fringe of the American Left appear to be making the same mistake by thinking that their views are mainstream, and if the moderate Democrats are not careful they could find their party is also captured by hardcore elements – the Bernie Sanders mob, crazed college students, mental feminists, etc. – and find themselves elbowed out into the political wilderness indefinitely.
Via Catallaxy Files I have come across Michael Moore’s post-election action plan:
Must quickly and decisively form an opposition movement, the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the 1960s. I will do my part to help lead this as I’m sure many others (Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, MoveOn, the hip-hop community, DFA, etc.) will, too. The core of this opposition force will be fueled by young people who, as with Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter, don’t tolerate b.s. and are relentless in their resistance to authority. They have no interest in compromising with racists and misogynists.
This is Momentum all over again, isn’t it?
I like that all these exciting young things are resistant to authority. Would that be the same authority that crushes the life out of people who dare — dare I tell you! — to say that they have a slightly different opinion to what’s printed on the membership card?
There is also, which M Moore doesn’t understand (or fails to notice from the history of the left) in his enthusiasm is that all these groups — even the ones solidly behind a single ideology — quickly fall out and start spitting venom at each other. People’s Judean Front, or People’s Front of Judea, anyone?

Once Trump is in office, how much might come out about the war-making plans of his predecessor, I wonder. He’s already hinting about a new investigation of 9/11; how about a public investigation about Libya, Syria, and the Ukraine?
Actually, I fear for his life.
Didn’t Moore make his name with a film about how His hometown economy was fucked over by Republicans? Something about GM and the car plant he worked at?
Wouldn’t he welcome an outsider who promised to revitalise American manufacturing.
Y’know, unless he’s more interested in shilling a politico for other reasons than standing up for the little fella…
I read the whole thing but it was the same passage that stuck out for me. It’s always about getting the young people involved for these guys. They just love that level of gullibility, laziness, and blind idealism to a loser cause.

When I were a lad we protested against nuclear arms and warmongering, now they protest against deescalation of a nuclear threat and the cessation of a regime change. Trump hasn’t done anything political yet, maybe he had burned some folk in real estate deals but just wait until he gets stuck into evil doing. Times Square to be renamed Maidan Square.
Moore has done well for himself although I think he speaks with fork tongue.
