{"id":3665,"date":"2016-11-23T08:57:38","date_gmt":"2016-11-23T07:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3665"},"modified":"2016-11-23T09:07:15","modified_gmt":"2016-11-23T08:07:15","slug":"whats-the-opposite-of-a-rose-tint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/3665\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s the opposite of a rose tint?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/entertainment-arts-38073567\" target=\"_blank\">the BBC<\/a>\u00a0(which considers this front-page news):<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">Comedian Ellen DeGeneres was praised by the US president for her influence on the gay rights movement as she received the country&#8217;s highest civilian honour.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Barack Obama said it was easy to forget the risk Ellen DeGeneres took to come out as gay in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>He said her bravery helped &#8220;push our country in the direction of justice&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s easy to forget now, when we&#8217;ve come so far&#8230; just how much courage was required for Ellen to come out on the most public of stages almost 20 years ago,&#8221; he said during the award ceremony at the White House.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What an incredible burden that was to bear &#8211; to risk your career like that &#8211; people don&#8217;t do that very often.
