{"id":362,"date":"2008-05-22T03:58:42","date_gmt":"2008-05-21T23:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/?p=362"},"modified":"2008-05-22T04:51:36","modified_gmt":"2008-05-22T00:51:36","slug":"uefa-champions-league-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/362\/","title":{"rendered":"UEFA Champions League Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/sport2\/hi\/football\/europe\/7406252.stm\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester United 1 &#8211; 1 Chelsea (Man Utd win 6-5 on penalties)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following Zenit St. Petersburg&#8217;s win over Rangers last week, today&#8217;s result means\u00a0that\u00a0everybody in our\u00a0household\u00a0is celebrating European cup glory.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, the match kicked off at 5:45am Sakhalin time, so I leaped out of bed at 5:00am with the intention of taking a shower before going over to the nearby hotel where they were showing it (refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/?p=356\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a> to understand why I could not watch it at home).\u00a0 Unsurprisingly, I found our cold water had been turned off (which\u00a0seems to be\u00a0a regular thing between about 1:00am and 7:00am), so\u00a0I had to go without.\u00a0 Last Saturday was spent\u00a0without any cold water as well, making showering a similar experience to that which a lobster endures during its last moments in a posh restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, shower or no shower, I am delighted with the result.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester United 1 &#8211; 1 Chelsea (Man Utd win 6-5 on penalties) Following Zenit St. Petersburg&#8217;s win over Rangers last week, today&#8217;s result means\u00a0that\u00a0everybody in our\u00a0household\u00a0is celebrating European cup glory.
