{"id":175,"date":"2006-07-02T13:25:52","date_gmt":"2006-07-02T09:25:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/?p=175"},"modified":"2006-07-02T13:36:13","modified_gmt":"2006-07-02T09:36:13","slug":"canoeing-on-the-river-wye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/175\/","title":{"rendered":"Canoeing on the River Wye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am currently staying with a friend in Hereford in the heart of the English countryside, and the weather could not be better.\u00a0 Even at 9:00am the sun is noticeably warm and it stays like that until late evening, with it finally going dark around 10pm.\u00a0 We have spent more than a few hours outside drinking wine and eating barbecue.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we decided to go for a canoe trip along the river Wye.<\/p>\n<p><img title=\"River Wye\" alt=\"River Wye\" src=\"https:\/\/www.desertsun.co.uk\/blog\/images\/wye.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was excellent fun.\u00a0 There were two couples in a canoe each, plus a chap on his own in a kayak.\u00a0 Occasionally the canoes would ground and the male of each canoe would chivalrously clamber out and push the damsel in distress to deeper waters.\u00a0 On the first occasion I did this, I ended up in water up to my armpits, wearing clothes which were not exactly made for swimming (the decision to go canoeing was made after leaving the house).
