Motes & Beams

Sorry, I know I promised, but this is just too easy.

Laurie Penny talking about Donald Trump, September 16th:

Two days later:

Calling Donald Trump a white supremacist as a matter of course is something to be encouraged. Applying wholly inaccurate labels to Laurie Penny is beyond the pale. And of course, this professional attention-seeker has a disorder to disclose on the internet. Is MHD something real, or one of those trendy middle-class disorders?

As for this:

Try being less abusive yourself, perhaps?

  1. As far as I can see MHD = Mental Health Diagnosis

What the hell does that mean? I had 4 sessions with a psychologist once and she diagnosed me.

Can I have a free pass?

  2. @Serge

I’m not sure any (sensible) person has a particular feeling for or against Penny.

I think Tim is just noting that there’s not a shred of real thought behind much (all?) that she says. It’s just directionless emoting, blaming everyone except herself for the position she finds herself in. Because it’s massively more likely that everyone else is responsible for someone’s experience in life than they are themselves (sarcasm, btw).

I suppose that he/we/I may find all that a touch tedious, and I doubt many would spend time in her company for fun, but I think dislike is probably overstating it.

  3. I don’t think it is a very good idea for somebody with mental health issues to be on twitter at all.

  4. You really dislike Penny now don’t you?

Not really. I wish she’d snap out of it and grow up, to be honest.

Don’t worry the feeling is mutual.

The way she speaks about straight, white men I kind of guessed that already.

Most days I think it’s a requirement of having a blue check mark.

  6. I used to work in education, so am something of a connoisseur of daft strings of initials used to excuse stuff. But I’d never heard of MHD before. I googled it, and got 3 pages of links about a French rapper.

But if the girl says she’s suffering, then she’s suffering. Maybe the misogyny of his lyrics, or something.

    Heh!

  8. MHD? I assume she’s never heard of magnetohydrodynamics. So menstrual hygiene disorder? Quite possibly; but, bloody hell, let’s not go there. Moral highground delusions? ….Mental health disorder it probably is.

    JS:

I’m not sure any (sensible) person has a particular feeling for or against Penny.

I think she’s a risible, decadent, virtue-signalling, polymorphously perverse, feminazi leftist bitch. Does that mean I’m not sensible? 😏

  9. ” But I’d never heard of MHD before. I googled it, and got 3 pages of links about a French rapper.”

I’m sure someone like Penny could pick up quite a selection of diseases from that.

  10. I don’t doubt she’s got a Mental Health Diagnosis – they come in crackerjack boxes – but I also don’t believe for one second she’s got a real mental illness. She’s not setting off my craydar. She’s too successful and none of her so-called problems are self-destructive.

  11. MHD – abbrev. Mad Harpies Disease – only affects females.

    – Frequently caught from cats and from sexual relations with other infected females.
    – Common in Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Polyamorous females.
    – Also common in left-wing females, possibly due to sharing sexual partners – see Commune, Corbyn, Prescott.

imho don’t care if she has MHD, STD…. Her childish whiny voice is sufficient to validate ignoring her opinions & complaints.
