Apologies for the lack of posting lately.  Work is getting pretty busy and my day is packed full of stuff to do, and the dialup connection I have in the apartment is rubbish.  I have a few things to write about, I’ll see what I can do this weekend.

The Italian-Russian coproduction was filmed in Sholokhovs native village of Veshenskaya, in southwest Russia. [Rupert] Everett, only 30 when filming began in 1991, recalled recently that the role saved him financially. He said that work had dried up after he had borrowed money to buy a country house in France, and that he was offered the part only because nobody else wanted to spend 14 months in Russia.

[It] is not the most comfortable place, but as I had been to public school I was one of the few people on the film set not to worry about the conditions, he said.

Glad to hear your OK. I was worried Putin had read your piece and sent a few of the boys round.

    Georges, you’re such a pessimist.
I thought Julia has returned from her travels and Tim is busy celebrating…

  4. Tatyana says:

And I have no idea why I turned you into a Frenchman…

  5. George Hargraves says:

Russian pessimist, English realist. It’s the same thing Tatyana.
