Insecurity Theatre

Commenter Widmerpool makes a point regarding the Kiwi headscarf campaign which I ought to have done:

Bunch of kids playing dress up to make themselves feel better.

I’ve written about this before, of course:

An awful lot of what passes for women’s politics these days is just a big game of dress-up.

David Moore posts a link to this picture:

And this morning on Twitter:

That’s all it is, isn’t it? A big game of dress up. I’ve pretty much abandoned hope of any adults – of either sex – turning up to put a stop to it.

  1. Note how western women virtue signalling by adoring the hijab always leave a bit of hair showing to possibly show they still have some freedom of choice.

Almost all Muslims who wear the hijab (sometimes under the threat of men enforcing it) make sure all their hair is covered. There’s no ‘playing at this’ in many Islamic places.

  2. Almost all Muslims who wear the hijab (sometimes under the threat of men enforcing it) make sure all their hair is covered.

Indeed. A Lebanese guy I knew in Dubai told me getting to first base with a local girl entailed her pulling a strand of her hair from beneath the hijab and showing it to him.

I’m sure those Iranian women being beaten and jailed for not wearing the hijab are well impressed by woke feminists in New Zealand encouraging all women to wear one. Then again, maybe they’re just practicing for the future?

  3. I don’t remember all these concerned females dressing like teenage girls after Manchester, or like bull fighters after Madrid or like Gordon Fucking Gekko after 9/11?

It is an utterly pathetic response to a vile and despicable crime, but a response which by making it all about group identity (as the killer would have wanted) simply makes a re-run all the more tragically likely.

  4. Is this a rerun of Justin Goes to Bollywood? (Although that particular virtue signaller is being given a hardtime by his exMinister of Justice who took her job seriously)

Anyone turning up to put a stop to it will be labelled “literally Hitler” and the wimminz will immediately swap the hijab for twat hats.

  6. Ironically if any would be Tarrants were watching, they’d not exactly be convinced he was wrong about his Muslim takeover ideas………….

  7. Why aren’t they wearing a niqab, in public, for the rest of their lives? Are they insufficiently respecting Islam or something? Why haven’t they been arrested yet?

  8. It’s a bit like if, prior to their civil war, the Yanks had tried to show solidarity with blacks by wearing chains
