Game Rigged

I don’t agree with all of the ZMan’s post here, but this paragraph is spot on:

We have reached a point where it is heads they win, tails we lose. The game has been rigged to make reforming the system within the rules an impossibility. When a majority of the people favor a policy that the managerial class opposes, the policy gets hamstrung by the rules of the game. All of a sudden, the process is sacred. When the managerial class wants something for their masters, they change the rules so it either flies through or simply happens without anyone noticing. The process is not all that important.

And this, which I touched on in yesterday’s post:

All the blather about America being a nation of laws is just cover for the fact that ours is a lawless nation ruled by lawless men. An obvious example is the Ninth Circuit judges, who have fabricated a legal justification for throwing sand in the gears of a wildly popular executive order issued by President Trump. These are not men enforcing the law or respecting the laws. These are men who hold the law in contempt. All that matters to them is obedience to the weird secular cult we have come to call Progressivism.

  1. Yup.

It’s an inglorious way for their Republic to end but there you are. Soon they’ll be back to their game of visiting desolation on large parts of the world to spread “American values”.

What did Tacitus put in the mouth of Calgacus? “If the enemy be rich, they are rapacious; if he be poor, they lust for dominion; neither the east nor the west has been able to satisfy them. Alone among men they covet with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To robbery, slaughter, plunder, they give the lying name of empire; they make a solitude and call it peace.”

At least the Romans did useful things for the peoples they conquered: Monty Python was sound on that point. Just what the US has done for Afghanistan or Iraq or Libya or Syria escapes me. Or Serbia come to that. Aqueduct building beats “nation building” every time but building aqueducts requires patience and an absence of hysteria.

    Christ, it’s all desperately sad.

  2. So true it hurts. Their mindset is such that argument and logic has nothing to attach to. Dogma of the left is they are on the high ground of morality and that to apply morality to the opposition is absurd, do not listen just vilify is their mantra.
It must of necessity end in violence unless a reformation hits the left.
Fortunately the USA has Europe as a marker if the EU wins come to the aid once again of the English speaking peoples saving us will be saving yourselves.
